Tour Leaders: Warwick Forge with Susanne Forge
Our journey explores the highlights of Galapagos, one of the least disturbed wildlife sanctuaries remaining on Earth. This tiny, remote archipelago has remarkable, wild creatures to study and enjoy.
We visit key sites journeying through the islands at night on the lovely Berugia, with its ten double berthed cabins. Our sea journeys are mostly short, and the cool dry season generally has lovely, calm waters.
From Quito, capital of Ecuador, we fly to the lush green isle of Santa Cruz and the Charles Darwin Research Station with its conservation and breeding programs, and meet the Giant Galapagos tortoises.
Floreana, boasts a flamingo lagoon, Darwin Finches, sea turtles and wonderful snorkelling at the Devil’s Crown, a submerged volcano – haven for seabirds, where we swim and play with sea lions and various fish. Isabela Island has a lovely walk to the Serra Negra volcanic crater. Puerto Villamil, has white sandy beaches, lagoons, wetlands, marine iguanas, giant mangroves, giant tortoises, Shore Birds, Blue-footed Boobies, and good shopping in the historic town.
In lagoons at Elizabeth Bay there is a plethora of birds, flamingos, ducks, turtles, abundant marine life and perfect snorkelling. Urbina Bay, has a dramatic geological uplift, with Penguins, Noddy terms and Marine Iguanas while Tagus Cove has panga rides with great marine and bird life.
Only remote Fernandina Island, has no introduced species and there are Flightless Cormorant, Pelicans, Sea Lions, Sally Light Foot Crabs and Marine Iguanas. Punta Vicente Roca, has great snorkelling, panga rides, turtles and vast marine and bird life.
On James Island, we find Galapagos Fur Seals, a chance to see Galapagos Hawk, Galapagos Dove and Vermilion Flycatcher. Lagoons provide habitat for Flamingos and White Cheeked Pintail Ducks and on Bartolome Island our walk has superb volcanic scenery. On North Seymour Island, we find abundant Magnificent Frigate birds, Blue footed Boobies and Swallow Tailed Hulls, etc.

THE THREE TOURS
The three Latin American tours are arranged consecutively so that you may choose one or more. Travel to these countries is expensive but major savings are achieved when combining tours. Where tour places are in demand, travellers taking two tours may be given priority over a person taking only one.
Our quoted tour costs do not cover your flights for arrival and departure.
For flights enabling you to go from one tour to the next, you must use our nominated travel agent.
For your overseas flights to and from Latin America we strongly recommend that you use our nominated agent. This provides maximum coordination, secure transfers to and from airports and sometimes significant savings.
Note: Our Latin American flights are not always the cheapest nor the quickest since safety is our first priority.
