Land Escapism Bawley Point NSW 08-Feb-2022

Land Escapism, is a two-and-a-half day event set in the breathtaking surroundings of Willinga Park, Bawley Point from 8th to 10th February 2022. You’ll hear from some of Australia’s most talented landscape designers, artists and writers.

The presenters include: writer and naturalist John Blay, Budawang Elder of the Yuin Nation South Coast, Noel Butler, the acclaimed artist Lucy Culliton, landscape designers Michael Cooke, Hugh Main, Jim Osborne and Peter Shaw. These presenters will provide in-depth presentations about landscape and design which will be accompanied by opportunities to tread new ground as we view extraordinary sculptures from Ulan and Rachel visit gardens and explore the native forests and sweeping beaches of the 2,000 acre park and surrounding area.

The event’s focus is to immerse you in the landscape both the natural and designed, to provide opportunities for learning and reflection as you escape the everyday. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to be with other people with whom you share landscape, art and imaginative interests.

Willinga Park is a world-class, equestrian complex designed by Cox Architecture. Your introduction will include a site tour and the opportunity to watch some of Australia’s best riders and horses whilst you enjoy pre-dinner drinks and dinner. The entire site has been booked and for those quick to register, limited accommodation is available on site at Willinga with luxurious modern pavilions set in natural bushland.

Event Dinner
A very special evening is planned at the award winning Cupitt’s Estate. You’ll be delighted with their wines, sampling Cupitt’s own cheese and enjoying a delightful meal, with the majority of ingredients grown on site. Owner, Rosie Cupitt is part of the south coast’s growing whole food/food mile experience.

Post Event Immersion
For those that love the outdoors, a specially curated stay has been arranged.
Yambulla Stay – 11-13 February 2022 (3 days) – Spend time immersing yourself in landscape at Jim Osborne’s property, Yambulla near Eden. Here you’ll be introduced to the land management programs that draw from First Nations Elders’ knowledge. And of course, some time for rejuvenating, swimming and walking.
