AUCKLAND GARDENS TOUR 

Friday 4th September

Auckland city wraps around its harbours and its climate generates luxuriant growth.  These elements provide designers with great opportunities to create lush city havens and gardens with steep slopes and coastal influences.

Delegates will experience a selection of stunning private Auckland gardens diverse in setting and scale. All offer unique solutions to providing garden liveability−whether it be walled cutting edge design or a carefully selected palette of native plants tumbling to the sea.

Most of these gardens have never been opened to the public before and for example, at the Morton Garden, we will pass through their superb award winning architect designed house on our way to the terrace. The day will culminate with drinks for delegates and speakers around the pool at Ayrlies−one of New Zealand’s most beautiful country gardens.

This one-day tour is available for $99.00 and includes lunch, refreshments, tour guides and design notes.
The day commences at Waipuna Conference Centre at 9.00am and returns at 5.30pm. Tour leaders are Jill Pierce, heritage landscape planner and garden designer, Sue McLean.
