Nancy Power

...has only been known to many of us through her wonderful book, The Gardens of California: Four Centuries of Design from Mission to Modern.  Nancy will overview the evolution of the gardens of California including the Spanish influences which date right back to the ancient Persian traditions.

Nancy Goslee Power & Associates, Inc. is a Santa Monica, California based landscape design firm with over 150 projects throughout California, many other regions of the USA, Europe, and at least one in Australia (Toorak).

The firm has undertaken many key projects such as the Sculpture Garden at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, the Art Centre rooftop garden, the Beverly Hills Montage Hotel and Park, Kidspace in Pasadena, the Grand Avenue Alignment Plan and the plantings at the Music Centre Plaza. Nancy has also been involved with a range of large gardens for the rich and famous and collaborated with brilliant architect Frank Gehry−including his own garden.

At heart, she is a passionate gardener who loves gardens and plants, there are no bad plants, only plants in the wrong place.., produces harmonious and often voluptuous schemes which are carefully organised to be used, enjoyed and loved by their owners.  She is also passionate about involvement of children in gardens and is a great supporter of the Edible Schoolyards program.
