Welcome to the Australian Landscape Conference 2011.

Extensive research has gone into our choice of speakers for the Australian Landscape Conference 2011.
We have visited places around the world that are culturally and geographically diverse and unearthed designers with remarkable talents. They will broaden our understanding and appreciation of that most demanding and rewarding of skills—landscape design.

Our speakers come from Argentina, California, England (2), Japan and, of course, Australia. We are honoured that they are coming since they will provide us all with two very exciting days. What a joy to introduce these speakers to Australia!

Our 2011 conference brings a number of changes. We are delighted that it will be opened by the Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Ted Baillieu MP. Being a successful architect, Mr Baillieu has a keen eye for design.

Our new venue is the superb new Melbourne Convention Centre. This hi-tech six-star environmentally rated complex is well located beside the Yarra River, is close to hotels, the ‘Polly Woodside’ sailing ship and adjacent to Southbank and Melbourne’s city centre.

This year, we have mini-breaks to enable rapporteurs Tim Richardson and Craig Burton to intercede and comment. This will allow time for reflection.
The conference offers a wonderful opportunity to meet with kindred spirits with a passion for garden and landscape design. With our speakers and our splendid team of sponsors, we look forward to welcoming you.
